Marcasite agate is a very unique material from Indonesia that exhibits “chunks” of marcasite suspended in an agate matrix.  The brilliant, metallic marcasite occurs as brecciated pieces in a hard agate background.  It is a bit messy to work with, but produces brilliant finished work.  The material is prone to small pinhead pits throughout, but still leaves enough solid areas to make great cabs.  It makes a very unusual addition to any collection.
