The Kalahari Desert, Namibia, Africa is the source of African Queen Landscape/Picture Jasper. The layered patterns create picturesque landscape scenes with brown and black bands flowing across a tan background. It is an opaque, microcrystalline form of quartz. As with any microcrystalline quartz, it is hard and takes an excellent polish with cerium or tin oxide.

Dimensions: 5" x 3.5" and is approximately 7.1 mm thick. Weight = 188 grams.

Not polished. Shown wet.  The flaws marked on this slab are on the backside upper left edge, however it is thick enough to polish out and make a finished piece.
