Youngite Slab 39
Youngite is an exceptional lapidary material from Guernsey, Wyoming. Also known as fluorescent cave agate, this material consists of a brecciated “fleshy/peach” material suspended in a white agate matrix. Filled with druzy pockets it makes fantastic cabbing stock. It also is famous for its unique fluorescent qualities when exposed to UV light, glowing with an eerie green color. The mine has been closed to collectors for many decades and has since become almost “unobtainium”. This officially “extinct” material is a must for any comprehensive agate collection.
