Deschutes Jasper Rock Slab 27

  • 1995

Deschutes Jasper is famous for its “dark”, earthy tones of overlapping orb-like patterns that often resemble stark panoramic landscapes.  It is a very hard, fine-grained jasper that takes a superior polish and has long been a favorite of the lapidary community.  Taken from deposits in Oregon, this material is getting increasingly difficult to obtain.  Every collection should have a least one piece of this fantastic jasper.

Origin:  Oregon

Dimensions: 4.5" x 3.25" and approximately 6.9 mm thick.  Weight = 88 grams.

Shown wet.  Not polished. Flaws are shown as white lines in the final picture frame.
