Jumpin Jeep Moss Agate Rock Slab 03

  • 5995

“Jumpin Jeep” moss agate was a 1950”s John Day River discovery called Mitchellite that has recently come to market.  The name comes from details about the original mining experience in which the miners in trying to pull a large piece of the agate had tied it off to their jeep but lost control and the rock pulled the jeep, “jumping”, downhill to the river. The material has distinct well-defined moss or plumes in shades of red, gold, and yellow set within clear agate.  This rare material will make distinguished eye-catching cabochons or can be a one-of-a-kind collectable piece.
