Marston Ranch Jasper Rock slab 37

  • 1995

Marston jasper is a multi-colored jasper/agate mix that occurs on private property in Eastern Oregon. It is, supposedly, an agate/jasper replacement of petrified wood that was included in a bog eons ago. It is known for its bold colors, primarily red, green and gold although many other pastel colors are often included in the formation. One of the most colorful jaspers from the Northwestern US, it takes a splendid polish and produces spectacular finished pieces.

Origin:  Oregon, US

Dimensions: 7" x 3.75" and approximately 6 mm thick.  Weight = 240 g.

Shown wet.  Not polished.  Flaws are shown as white lines in the final picture frame.
