  • 1995

Mushroom Jasper is a picturesque material containing gray and brown orbs that resemble mushrooms and are scattered throughout a brick red background.  Originally named a jasper it was later determined to be a highly silicated rhyolite (volcanic rock) found in Arizona.  It makes delightful scenes for cabs and will take a good polish.

Origin:  Arizona

Dimensions:  3.75" x 2.5" and approximately 5.4 mm thick.  Weight = 78 grams.

Shown wet.  Not polished. Flaws are shown as white lines in the last picture frame.
