Brazilian agate has been a staple of the lapidary community for many decades.  It comes in a variety of forms, the most common being a banded fortification, as well as a wide variety of colors, which adds to its universal appeal to the collector.  Piranha Agate is a less common and a more desirable variety or subclass of Brazilian Agate.   It is known and valued for its vivid color and high contrasting fortification bands.
