Rincon Crazy Lace Rock Slab 11

  • 1995

New to the Mexican Crazy Lace lineup is Rincon Lace.  It boasts some of the traditional features like the brick red color and intricate lacy patterns but show a greater variety in both.  Colors vary from dark red to peach and the patterns are more diverse.  Long considered to be one of the more abundant types of Mexican agate, it has become increasingly difficult to find high quality material in recent years.  It is a hard agate material that takes a superior polish and makes great finished pieces.  Definitely a "keystone" material for any collection.

Origin:  Mexico

Dimensions:  4.5" x 2" and approximately 8 mm thick.  Weight = 94 grams.

Shown wet.  Not polished. Flaws are shown as white lines in the last picture frame.
