Turkish Jade Rock Slab 39
Purple Jade from Turkey, Turkeyonite, is an ancient gemstone but has been rediscovered and gained popularity more recently, starting in the 1980’s. It is found only in the Bursa region, which is known for Quartz, Diaspore, Epidote and Orthoclase. When sampled, the jadeite runs between 40 – 60 percent and has a hardness of 6-7 on the Mohs scale. The beautiful, mottled shades of soft purple will create elegant, finished pieces.
