B.C. Ocean Picture Rock 96

  • 5495

B.C. Ocean Picture Rock was mined in the mountains around Kamloops in small scale by the land owner in the 90's. This rare material is known for its unique blue chalcedony, silicate serpentine, agate, and limonite composition. The blue hues come from the mix of copper salts and sodium, combining to make unique colorations in each piece, often interpreted as representations of natural ocean scenes.  This is a great opportunity to obtain high quality old-stock material that is rare and rapidly disappearing.

Origin:  Canada

Dimensions:  5 x 2.5" and approximately 7 mm thick.  Weight = 102 grams.

Shown wet.  Not polished.  Significant and known flaws are shown as white lines in the final picture frame.
