Dinosaur Bone Slab 27

  • 1995

Dinobone, or petrified dinosaur bone, is one of the most rare and beautiful fossils in the world. It is the fossil of an animal bone containing minerals such as chlorite, chromium, iron-oxide and manganese that were deposited in the cells as it was formed. These different minerals create the varied colors and unique patterns found in the gem bones.  Black webbing in the cells is particularly beautiful due to the way it creates a contrasting difference from the yellow, orange, pink or red colors. Other colors that may be found in Gem Bone are brown, white, blue, green or gray. This is a great specimen that will  take a high polish and make truly unique cabs for jewelry!
