Fruit Jasper Slab 283
Fruit Jasper, also known as Sabalgarh Marble, Ajooba Jasper, and Azubilite, is a type of Jasper conglomerate that crystallizes in massive formations. The gemstone is an aggregate of bright red, brown red, green, yellow, orange and kahki 'nodules' in a buff or beige or brown matrix. The name comes from the resemblance to that of a fruitcake, with the original name of Sabalgarh Marble coming from the sourced locality in the Gora quarry at Sabalgarh in the Madhyar Pradesh state in India. Fruit Jasper has been used as a decorative stone for buildings throughout the late 19th century and early 20th century, but has not been sold as a lapidary material up until around the beginning of the 2000s. A fun and fanciful material for cabbing.
