This unusual dark, rich green colored stone is uvarovite crystal infused in black matrix.  It hails from California’s chromite deposits and has a hardness of 6.5 - 7.5.  Most often uvarovite is found as a druzy covering and is used for raw stone designs.  This particular material, acquired at the Tucson 2024 Show, has enough matrix that the surface all becomes usable with varying shades of black and green for exotic finished stones.
