K2 Blue Rock Slab 44

K2 Blue is a very rare material from Pakistan.  It was introduced to markets about 2015 and rapidly become very popular with lapidary enthusiasts and artisans.  The deposit is located on the world’s 2nd highest mountain peak “K2” in the Himalayan region of Pakistan.  The background/matrix is granite with brilliant Robin’s egg blue spheres of the mineral azurite.  K2 Blue cuts some very unique lithic cabs with an eye catching splash of color.  A “must” for any collection.  This slab has irregularities on the back side but is thick enough to compensate for most any cab depth. 

Origin:  Pakistan

Dimensions: 4.25" x 3.75" and approximately 12 mm thick.  Weight = 349 grams. 

Shown wet.  Not polished. No known flaws.
