Morgan Hill Poppy Jasper Rock Slab 16

Morgan Hill Poppy Jasper, found in Santa Clara County, California, is a famous, but increasingly rare orbicular jasper with red and yellow orbs.  It is a brecciated japer, oxidized iron-rich whose cracks were filled in by other substances.  This material is no longer being mined, but occasionally pieces surface from long held collections.

Origin:  California

Dimensions: 4.75" x 3" and approximately 6.7 mm thick .  Weight = 119 grams.
