Rutilated Quartz Rock Slab 6
Rutile Quartz is a macro-crystalline quartz which is usually completely transparent but with fibrous or hair-like inclusions of titanium dioxide (that’s the ‘Rutile’ bit) in colors such as yellow, red or brown. These needle-like inclusions can be thin, thick, criss-crossed or parallel, wispy or fat and add a great deal of character and charm to the clear quartz. While otherwise inclusions often reduce the value of a crystal, rutilated quartz is valued for the quality and beauty of these inclusions.
