Snowflake Laguna from Mexico was a new introduction at the 2024 Quartzsite Rock and Gem Shows.  This quartz and barite composite, that was layered between the Laguna Lace and Mimbres deposits, showcases a variety of delicate and intricate snowflake patterns.  The material is prone to drusy pockets and pitting that can either be worked around or included in the cabochon design.  The barite portion of the rock is about a 4 - 5 on the Mohs scale so it is a bit soft but still is easy to work with and held up well through the polishing process.

Dimensions:  7" x 5" and approximately 6.2 mm thick .  Weight = 279 g.
