Forest Fire Plume agate is a highly prized old stock agate material from Idaho wit brilliant, spiky plumes of vivid red and pink with white accents in a translucent agate matrix. The area produced three similar yet distinctive plume agates, each with a unique color variation.  The Forest Green Plume Agate has white plumes imbedded in a dark green and brown matrix.  The least known and most limited in quantity was the beautiful pastel purple and pink Sunrise Plume.  Quantities were very scarce, just a few pieces of float were harvested.

New material for these three agate varieties has not been available for nearly ten to fifteen years, and then only in very limited quantities.  This exceptional material, in any of the color palettes, makes exquisite cabs and is often collected as a valuable specimen.
