Piranha Slab 74

Brazilian agate has been a staple of the lapidary community for many decades.  It comes in a variety of forms, the most common being a banded fortification, as well as a wide variety of colors, which adds to its universal appeal to the collector.  Piranha Agate is a less common and a more desirable variety or subclass of Brazilian Agate.   It is known and valued for its vivid color and high contrasting fortification bands.

Origin:  Brazil

Dimensions: 3.75" x 3.5" and approximately 6 mm thick.  Weight = 86 grams.

Shown wet.  Not polished. Known flaws  are marked with white lines in the final picture frame.
